I need help converting Sage 50 to Quickbook online

It’s great to see you in the Community, kfcoffice.

I'm so happy to know you're considering using QuickBooks Online to manage your business.

When moving your Sage 50 data to QBO, convert it first to the desktop version. Then move the file to the online version.

To ensure a smooth process, check the system requirements for the conversion tool. There’s some information that doesn’t come over since the data is from another platform.

  • Payroll transactions and employee year-to-date info (paychecks, year-to-date adjustments)
  • Payroll items used to calculate paychecks (hourly and salary payroll items, deductions, medical insurance, etc).
  • Individual employee wage or deduction information
  • Fixed Assets and work tickets
  • Closed or partially closed Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, and Estimates

When you’re ready, perform Steps 2-6 in the following article: Convert from Sage 50 to QuickBooks Desktop.

Once done, move your desktop file to the online version. For additional resources, this link contains answers to common questions about converting from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

Let me share this guide for future reference. It contains topics and articles to get acclimated to the product’s processes: Get Started.

Don’t hesitate to post a comment if you still need help with QuickBooks. Please know I'm always available here for all of your needs. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Thank you.  I converted to QB Simple Plan.  The conversion went smoothly and everything checked.   However, QB Simple Plan does not have the option to show YTD data on the profit and loss statement.  I wish I knew that when I choose this plan.
