I need to create a line item on my invoice that shows a zero rate/total cost with a quantity for the product. When I enter the invoice it shows up, but when I try to e-mail or print the invoice the line disappears.

Re: I need to create a line item on my invoice that shows a zero rate/total cost with a quantity ...

Hello there, melissa43235.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this. Let me help show line items on your invoice.

Your invoice template may be corrupted reason why line items disappear after emailing or printing the invoice. To fix this, we can delete and recreate your invoice template. I'll walk you through the steps on how to do it below:

To delete an invoice template, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Custom Form Styles under Your Company.
  3. Click the Drop-down arrow next to Edit.
  4. Select Delete.
  5. Click Yes, delete this style to confirm.

To recreate an invoice template, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Custom Form Styles under Your Company.
  3. Click the New Style then click Invoice.
  4. Start customizing your own template.
  5. Click Done.

Once done, try creating the invoice with the same information and email or print it. The line item that shows a zero rate should now appear on your invoice.

Feel free to check out this article to know more about customizing invoice templates in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you've got the chance to try out the steps above. I'd be more than happy to continue helping.

Thanks. That makes more sense. I just tried another invoice and one product line printed and the other didn't. I am familiar with the invoice templates and will try recreating. Thanks for your help.

Hello melissa43235,

Thank you for getting back to us here in the Community. I'd be glad to help provide additional assistance with your invoice concern in QuickBooks Online.

If the problem continues after recreating the invoice template, I also recommend performing some basic troubleshooting. You can start by logging into your QuickBooks account through a different support browser.

To know more on the support browsers for QBO, please check out the article I'm adding below:

System Requirements for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I've also checked here, and I haven't found any similar reports from other users related to your issue. If all fails, it would be best to contact one of our Support Specialists this time.

One of them will need to take over and check your account in the system for further investigation.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Log into your QuickBooks account.
  2. Click the Help option in the upper-right corner.
  3. Click the Contact us hyperlink.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance with emailing or printing the invoice. The Community has your back.
