I need to use my project numbers. Is this possible in QB on line?

There isn't a specific field for project numbers in QuickBooks Online (QBO). What you can do is use custom fields instead. 

Follow these steps to enable this feature:

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Select Custom form styles.
3. Tap the Edit link beside the Standard form style.
4. Move to the Content tab.
5. Click the top part of the sample invoice on the right side of the page. 
6. Scroll down, then press the Custom field link.
7. Depending on your QBO version, you'll see up to three blank boxes with check marks on them. Remove these to all boxes but one if you only need to use a single custom field. 
8. Name it Project Number. 
9. Press Done.

At this point, each time you create an invoice you'll have a blank Project Number field on it.

I have one customer with more than 100 projects at the same time and project number column in the project register would help to find correct one to enter bills or invoices. I do not need this particularly in the invoice, additionally i would be beneficial to have more than one step in Customer -Projects field e.g Customer -Project A - project 1,2,3...etc
