You are allowed to track your mileage from the facility and then back to your home, Oscar.  Let me share some insights about how to do this effectively.

When using QuickBooks Online (QBO) for tracking mileage, you are allowed to record mileage for both the trip to the customer's facility and the return trip to your home or office, given that these trips are solely for business purposes.

Mileage from your home to a work site can be deductible. However, if it's from your last cleaning job back home, this might not be deductible as these could be considered personal.

To ensure you are compliant while tracking mileage within QBO, follow the steps below on how to automatically and manually track mileage:

To manually track mileage:

  1. Go to Expenses, then Mileage.
  2. Select Add trip.
  3. Add the trip date, starting and ending locations, distance, and purpose.
  4. Select the vehicle you used.
  5. Click Save.

To automatically track mileage using the mobile app:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Online app on your mobile device.
  2. Go to the Mileage tab and enable auto-tracking. The app will automatically track your trips using GPS and log them for you.

For more comprehensive guidance on the process, refer to automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, I'd suggest consulting your accountant to ensure you adhere to IRS regulations and maximize your deductions appropriately.

Additionally, I've added these articles on how to reimburse your employees and fix mileage issues in QuickBooks:
