Join nowQB Support told my client to make a new accountant copy when he asked how to import the changes. Now he can't import the changes because it is the wrong file. I saw on one of the Q&A that he could restore from a backup that had the correct file in it and then import the changes. He would then restore from a current file which would put the recent activity back in. Won't the second backup wipe out the accountant changes?
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, @DAnd4. Let me help you import accountant changes in QuickBooks.
You're right that the second backup wipes out the accountant changes. To fix this, you can restore the old backup where the first accountant's copy was created.
Here's how:
If your backup company file is on an external device like a USB or a hosting service like Box, you'll need to move it to your local hard drive first. Then follow the steps above.
For additional information, please see this article: Restore a backup of your company file.
Otherwise, you'll need to redo all the work in the second accountant's copy.
In addition, let me attach this link in importing accountant's changes into your company file in QuickBooks Desktop. You can share this with your client to help him with the process.
Keep me posted on the result. I want to ensure everything is taken care of for you. Stay safe and take care.
