Good mornng
I am importing a budget file into a the P&L budget
There are a few expense accounts that go to the Balance sheet Budget instead, and the import creates them as bank account
I can manually fix but would like to have a permanent fix
Thank you
Importing a budget file correctly is my top priority, Juan C Gonzalez.
Importing .IIF files are easy because QuickBooks Desktop formats the file for you. You'll want to review the mapping of accounts to correctly import the file.
Also, correct .IIF format must be followed exactly to ensure that transactions import successfully. The incorrect format may lead to an error or data will import incorrectly. To give you more information, you can read this article: IIF Overview: Import Kit, Sample Files, And Headers.
I've attached some articles below for additional reference:

Good morning
There are no visible errors on the file
Not sure why some accounts go to the balance sheet budget and create bank accoutns for them
What causes this?
The file and template are identical
thank you
Hey there, @Juan C Gonzalez.
Thanks for following up with us.
It sounds like you may have a few issues with your .IIF file that you're trying to import. Let's run a test to see if that's the situation. If you can, please open a sample company file and import the data in the sample. If the data is incorrect as it is in your company file, then we will know the .IIF file has some issues.
To open a sample company file:
Please let me know if the import works in the sample file. I look forward to your reply. Feel free to share any additional questions or concerns you may have. Take care!
I did it in the sample company and it imported it all to the balance sheet by account budget
It also created a lot of the income and expense accounts in the Chart of accounts as bank
Thanks for getting back to us, Juan C Gonzalez.
Normally, this only happens if your accounts are mapped incorrectly. Since it is still doing the same thing in the sample file, I suggest reaching out to our support team so they can check why this is happening.
Here's how to reach them:

Hi,
I downloaded the IFF Import Kit, but there is no sample for the budget and I cannot get the header created correctly. Do you have a sample IFF file for a budget?
Thanks,
Jeanette
I’ve got you covered, @J Tan.
