I have the 2020 Enterprise Edition with Advanced Inventory turned on. I'm trying to import my opening inventory data including quantity on hand. I'm using the Add/Edit Multiple List Entries and the Qty On Hand is Greyed out. Any thoughts as to why. If I get past that point is it possible to import the materials which may have multiple bin locations per part or is there a way to do another upload to allocate to the correct bins?
Let's import your Inventory item to the sample file in QuickBooks Desktop.
Go to the File menu.
Select Close Company.
Click the open a sample file drop-down arrow.
Hit the File.
Once you successfully import the inventory item using the sample file, you can run the QuickBooks built-in diagnostic and repair tools called to rebuild and verify data utilities. These tools comb through, repair, and notify you of data damage within the file.
Go to File at the upper left, then pick Utilities and Rebuild Data on the drop-down.
Choose OK. Follow the prompts to save a backup.
Click OK when you see Rebuild has completed.
Now, go back to File, then Utilities and select Verify Data this time.
I don't believe the issue is with the file I'm trying to import but rather with Quickbooks. Even in the sample company the Qty on Hand is grayed out so the data I want to import won't. After I imported the file to the company I'm trying to use I ran the Verify and Rebuild Data functions and everything was fine.
