Thanks for sharing a screenshot of the imported template, abussiere.

There are times that a possible browser issue can cause unexpected results when performing a task in QuickBooks Online. I'll share some steps with you that can resolve common browser issues in the program.

Start by using an incognito/private browsing session or a different browser. Here are some of the keyboard shortcuts to quickly open an incognito session:

  • Ctrl Shift N  for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift P for Firefox
  • Control Option +if you're using Safari
  • Ctrl Shift P for Microsoft Edge

Then, import your template once again and check if it fits in one page. If everything looks fine, follow the steps in this article to delete your browsing history: Clear Cache And Cookies To Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks Online.

Hi there, abussiere.

Thanks for attaching a picture of your template.

The Custom Form Styles feature supports single-page templates. Depending on the number of line items, your final invoice can have multiple pages.

Based on the uploaded document, I've noticed that the height of your table for the line items is too long. You'll want to minimize or adjust its size to ensure that the template won't be printed into multiple pages. You may also restrict the style of your DOCX file to a single-page document.

Take a look at my screenshot below:

Once you're done, upload the file again, then try printing a dummy invoice using the custom template.

Thank you for reaching out to us, @abussiere.

In order to import transactions from QuickBooks desktop, you'll gonna do an IIF import. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Log in to your company file as an admin.
  2. Click on the File menu, then select Utilities.
  3. Choose Import, then select Import IIF.
  4. Select the IIF file you want to import, then select Open.
  5. Select OK.

Let me also add this article for more details: Import IIFs.

Hello there, @abussiere.

I appreciate you performing some steps to import your customized invoice template in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To ensure that your form looks its best when importing into QBO, here are some tips that you'll need to consider:

  • Indicate which fields that you want QuickBooks to map data to by marking it with opening and closing angle brackets “<“and “>”.
  • Don’t mark data that doesn’t change - information like your company name, address, and contact information stays the same, so there’s no need to mark them on your forms.
  • Use one of our supported fonts.
  • Scalar Fields can be placed inside text boxes or tables. However, Scalar and Table fields should NOT be part of the same table.
  • Table Fields must always be placed inside tables
  • Table Fields in the first non-header row of a table are repeated until all rows in your invoice are rendered. All other rows are ignored
  • Formatting of the first non-header row repeats on all rows. Don’t be surprised by this.
  • Avoid some elements as they will not transfer correctly/cause issues with your import, like the Audio, ClipArt, Word Art, Animated GIFS, Embedded files, Adding or updating hidden links or merging fields, Files over 2MB, and Non .docx file types or older MS Word documents renamed as .docx files.

Once everything is verified, try to import your form again and check if it's now good.
