Importing opening balance from older version quickbook

Let get your account balances imported to the new QuickBooks Desktop, Zoe SF.

We can export your Chart of Accounts as IIF from your old QuickBooks Desktop. This already includes the balances of the accounts. Here's how to do it:

  1. Log in to your old QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click File at the top and select Utilities > Export.
  3. Select Lists to IIF Files....
  4. In the Export window, mark the Chart of Accounts box.
  5. Click OK and look for a location to save the file.
  6. Click Save.

After that, we can go to the new QuickBooks Desktop and import the file. Here's how to do it:

  1. Log in to your new QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click File at the top and select Utilities > Import.
  3. Select IIF Files... and click the Import IIF button.
  4. Look for the IIF file and click Open.

If you've already created the accounts in the new program, you can edit them and enter the balances manually:

  1. Click List at the top menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right click on the bank account and select Edit Account.
  3. In the Edit Account window, go to the General tab.
  4. Go to the OPTIONAL section and click the Change Opening Balance... button.
  5. Enter the amount and the correct date.
  6. Click Save & Close.
