Join nowMy customer wants to change over from Account Edge accounting software to QB for Mac but I can't find how to import this accounts, items, and invoices.
Thank you for your help.
Hello, @Susan607.
I can guide you on how to import your data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac.
Yes, it's possible to bring your data (invoices, items) in QBDT for Mac using a spreadsheet or an Excel File. Before doing the process, please make sure to create a backup copy of your file in case you encounter issues during the process. For your accounts, you have to add them manually.
For the detailed instructions on how about importing items and transactions, you can open this article: https://qblittlesquare.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/QuickBooks-for-Mac-2019-1809.pdf. On your keyboard, press Ctrl + F and search for the Importing items in batches or Importing transactions in batches to easily find the topic.
Once successfully imported, you can as well read the topics from our help articles in case you need related resources while working with QBDT for Mac.
You can always leave a comment below if you have any other questions. I'm more than happy to help. Keep safe!
Thank you, Angelyn for the quick response. I've downloaded the manual and will see if I can get the import done. I will be back in touch but I will need to slug through for a couple of days. Many thanks. Be well and stay safe. You are appreciated.
You may have other 2 options:
1. Utilize one of these import tools to import data into QB Desktop (Windows) file. You may install the trial license of QBD Pro edition to proceed. Then you may convert the QBW file to QBD Mac file format.

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service. Check our profile name and send your business email address in a private message to us.
Wouldn't I have to have a PC rather than a Mac to import data into a QBD windows file?
What I am seeing is that after I have imported the excel spreadsheets created by the former accounting software program only a limited number of fields are imported due to few fields available for import by QB for Mac. I don't believe a 3rd party conversion would remedy that problem.
Thanks for the answer and your help.

Who are "we"?
Most of what you can convert I can do through the import function. Many of those on the list we do not need.
Can you import different price levels for products? Or does each price level for a sale product have to be listed as a separate item in QB? Thanks.
Our company offers the conversion/migration service.
If you are using one of the importer tools as I mentioned earlier, you can import the Price Level List
Name | Is Active | Type | Fixed Percentage | Item | Custom Price | Adjust Relative To |
Commercial | Y | FixedPercentage | -10
Industrial | Y | FixedPercentage | -15
Residential | Y | FixedPercentage | -5
Door Replacement Special | Y | PerItem | Framing | 45
Door Replacement Special | Y | PerItem | Installation | 30 |
I didn't find your company online. What is your company? Also, the grid you sent does not address the particular issue that I need. Where in QB can I designate different price levels for a customer? In the MYOB file I have which is a comma or tab delimited text file, I have a half dozen price levels for a given product for different customers. I don't see where they are imported in QB. Thank you for your time and responses.

Click our profile name. You may send a private message to us or visit our website.

It is the template should you need to import the data by an importer tool as I mentioned earlier.

As far as I know, Price Level List is not available yet in QB Desktop for Mac. If you are using QB Desktop Pro/Premier, you may set it in the Payment Settings of each Customer profile.
