In my bank register, I am occasionally seeing a ghost expense posted by Payments that offsets a legitimate Payments deposit on the same date. Any ideas?

It doesn't always happen, but I can't figure out why it does sometimes. The deposit is real and shows up in my bank but the offsetting payment for the same amount is not.

Another user may have created a ghost expense that offsets the deposit transaction in your bank register, Chuck.

Regarding the ghost expense, are you referring to an expense transaction or a refund transaction? Either of the two can cause an offset to the payment deposit in your register. It's possible that a user created this transaction. You may run the Audit log to see who that might be.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Audit log.
  3. Use the UserDate Changed, or Events columns to narrow the results.
