intermittent h202 error 2016 Pro Database Server Manager

I'm running 2016 QB Pro Database Server Manager on Windows Server 2016 Standard.  It runs fine for about a week and the users can open the databases in multi-user mode.  But once a week or every two weeks, they can't open in multi-user mode and get a H202 error.  The only way I've found to make this go away is to close the Server Manager, re-open it, and scan the QB directory.  After that they can resume without problem.  I would like to know if anybody might have a fix for this.

A workaround would be fine too.  Would it work to schedule a restart of the QB services on the server every day?  Or would that break Server Manager and it would need to be closed and re-opened anyway?

Thanks for your help

Derek

intermittent h202 error 2016 Pro Database Server Manager

I've got your back, DWhite20.

Thank you for sharing the complete details of your concern about getting the error code H202.

The error means that something is blocking the multi-user connection to your server, and I'm glad to help fix this issue.

The following steps outlined below will guide you through getting rid of the error:

Step 1: Follow steps depending on how you host your company files.

Step 2: Download and install the QuickBooks Tools Hub on your server.

Step 3: From the Tools Hub, run the QuickBooks Database Server Manager on your server.

Step 4: Check the services on your server.

For instructions and detailed solutions for each step outlined above, please refer to this article: How to fix Error H202 and H505.

Just a heads up, make sure to update QuickBooks Desktop to its latest release. This is to keep the software updated and get new features and fixes.
