Welcome to the QuickBooks family. Let me share some clarification about tracking inventory in different locations.
Currently, an option or ability to keep track of inventory in multiple locations is unavailable. As a workaround, you can search for a third-party application from the App Center.
Some software integrates well with the online version of QuickBooks. Since we're unable to suggest a specific app, I recommend searching for one manually.
- Log in to your QuickBooks account.
- On the left navigation bar, click Apps.
- Use the search bar or press Browse category.
Also, users have an option to add class and category directly to the products and services. However, in QBO, there are basic inventory reports available only:
- Inventory Valuation Detail Report
- Inventory Valuation Summary Report
As of now, both of these reports can't run by class or category. Another method is to separate the inventory by creating a new one, but I suggest seeking expert advice from an accountant. This way, we'll be able to ensure that your books stay accurate and error-free.
