Join nowI have accidentally imported all of my inventory twice. How can I fix this? I was trying to get my QBO inventory to identically match my Square POS inventory.
Thanks for posting here in the Community, @Spotofcolor.
You'll want to go to the Product and Service page and inactive the duplicate inventory item. Before doing so, make sure that it will match your Square POS inventory.
Here's how:
Once you've done, the inventory that you make inactive will no longer show in reports and other places that involve items in QuickBooks Online.
I've also included an article that will guide in tracking the things that you buy and sell, and the status of your inventory: Use reports to see your sales and inventory status.
Let me know if there's anything else you need, and I'm glad to help you out. Stay safe.
Thanks, do you have a suggestion on how best to keep Square POS inventory and Quickbooks inventory identical? I will be expanding my inventory over time and each program requires a different excel table format for importing. When exporting inventory from square the table columns are different and the names are different than the import sample file for quickbooks.
Thanks, do you have a suggestion on how to keep Quickbooks inventory and Square POS inventroy identical? Each program has a different excel format and with my business expanding inventory it seems tedious to keep up two different excel files. When I export my inventory from Square POS the information does not match the information quickbooks needs to import to update it's inventory list.
It sure would be nice if they auto synced inventories!
Good morning, @Spotofcolor.
Thanks for following back up in this thread.
There are several third-party apps you can download from within your QuickBooks Online account that could help with formatting issues. You can check out the QuickBooks App Store for further information about the apps you can use.
Also, you can refer back to my colleague @JoesemM response as it has additional information with preventing the duplication of products and services in QuickBooks Online as well.
