Yes, you're correct, Keziah. The Tags feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) will only remain available in a limited, read-only capacity for existing users who have already been using Tags. Let me provide more details below.

 

Starting May 16, 2025, users will no longer be able to create new tags, and the Tags feature will no longer be accessible to new QBO users or existing users who have never used it.

 

For current Tags users, you’ll still be able to view and report on your existing tags until at least May 15, 2028. That said, we highly recommend migrating your tags over to the improved Custom Fields feature between March 17, 2025, and May 15, 2025, so you can keep tracking and reporting smoothly without any interruptions.
