Re: Is there a way to prefill class?

Hi @wknapke,

Currently, there is no option to pre-fill classes in QuickBooks Desktop. But I have a workaround you can consider.

In QuickBooks, you're only able to pre-fill the account for a vendor transaction. Or automatically recall the last transaction for a name.

In the meantime, you can assign a class to a name. This way, when you enter transaction using that name, it'll automatically use the same class.

To accomplish this, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Edit from the menu bar.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Click on the Accounting tab.
  4. Under the Class section, tick on Assign classes to, then choose Names from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click on OK.

Once done, you can now enter a class for your Customers, Vendors or Employees by choosing either of them from the menu bar.

Lastly, once you've added a class for the names, you can now create transactions and choosing only their names.

Fill me in if you have any other concerns. I'll be here to help.
