Is there a way to receive a partial PO without creating a bill?

Currently, there is no direct way to record a partial Purchase order in QuickBooks Online (QBO) without creating a bill, Rhonda.

If you receive partial shipments before the associated bills arrive, consider using a third-party application designed for inventory management or shipping to integrate with QBO for managing packing slips, tracking purchases, and streamlining shipping workflows.

In the meantime, you might want to communicate with your vendor regarding the bill. Once you've agreed on the details, you can create a Bill in QBO to record the partial items you've received and set the Bill date accordingly.

You can then utilize the Open Purchase Order List report to track and manage your pending purchases and stay updated on the status of your orders with vendors.

You might also want to visit QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted. Our experts can support your bookkeeping process, streamlining tasks such as categorization, financial tracking, and sales management.
