Journal entries

In my construction business I may have a pile on material at a job site "A" and find we need something at another customer's job "B" so as example I will make a general journal entry debiting name "B" for $100 in wood and crediting name "A" for $100 in wood. My problem is while this has worked for years I just found a job where when I run a detailed P&L for name "B" some of these debits are missing. They show up as credits for name "A" and instead of showing up as a cost of goods sold for name "B" the items are coming up added to invoices and payments for name "B".

This has occured with just a few entries with no differences that I could find between those entries and other entries that have posted correctly.
