We have an external integration into QBO from our inventory management system (Unleashed). This posts inventory journals into our QBO file using it's own journal referencing protocols. An example might be a journal with a reference of "SS-00000500".
I'm interested in whether Quickbooks has any flexibility in journal referencing settings, so that all transactions created from within QBO have a set journal numbering protocol, rather than using the previous journal number 'plus 1'.
The problem is that when the above journal is exported from Unleashed & posted into QBO, the very next transaction raised in QBO will have SS-00000501 pre-filled in the journal number - so when Unleashed wants to post it's own SS-00000501 journal, it can not do so because this journal number already exists in QBO.
At this time, the option to set a journal reference number is unavailable, finance124. The numbering itself is a build-in in the journal entry. As a workaround, you can manually delete and enter your numbering system.
