Thanks for sharing your concern here in the Community, @regardless. I can understand the urgency to reconnect your PayPal account to QuickBooks. 

 

QuickBooks may encounter some errors when the cache is filled with lots of information. We can open a private window and access your account from there. Refer to the keyboard short cut keys below: 

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P 

 

Log in to your QuickBooks company and connect your account again, then

check if we can proceed without getting any error. If it worked, let's go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to get rid of the junk files and stored site data. Otherwise, switch to another supported browser.

 

If the issue persists, I'd recommend you contact our Customer Care team to help you check what's causing this to happen. Here's how to reach our support:

 

  1. Go to the Help (?) menu, then select Contact Us.
  2. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  3. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

 

As a workaround, you also want to import your Paypal transactions manually. Please follow the steps to import under How do I manually import transactions within QuickBooks Online outlined in this help article: Sync with Paypal: Manual import overview.

I managed to add the account but only via my iPhone quickbooks app.   It now shows in the banking list though it only dowloaded 2 transactions.   I cant seem to get a proper update of all transactions since dec 2020

 

Any more tips re this?

I’ve got you covered, @regardless.


Since you’re able to add PayPal using your mobile device, open your QuickBooks Online account in a web browser. Once signed in, you’ll want to manually update it to refresh the connection.


Here’s how:

 

  1. Select the Banking menu
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Select Update.


Please know that QuickBooks only downloads 90 days of your recent transaction. You will need to manually upload or import your past PayPal transactions into QBO. Refer to these resources for complete instructions and how they’re handled:

 


Once downloaded, you can use this guide to categorize and match them in the program. This makes sure everything is intact and accurate.
