Join nowIs there a way to track location with out using classes? I use classes for cost centers. we recently opened another location and I want to be able to print reports based on location.
Good morning, @masschultz.
I hope you're doing well. Allow me to provide some more information about tracking locations.
Location tracking is used to categorize data from different locations, offices, regions, outlets, or departments. You can turn on your location tracking without using classes. However, if you need your classes to remain on, you can choose to use them for each row of a transaction or the entire transaction. The steps below will show you how to assign your classes:
After following the steps below, you'll be able to track locations with or without using classes. I've included a couple of articles that will help you with both:
I'm only a few clicks away if you have any other questions. Take care!

I already use classes for cost centers so they are not available. Is there a separate way to track locations in Enterprise.
Hi there, masschultz.
For now, there's no separate way to track locations in QuickBooks Enterprise. You'll have to use classes to represent each site or location. Once done, you can classify inventory purchases and sales transactions.
Here's an article for more information: Set Up Advanced Inventory.
You'll also want to add a bin location to an existing site as long as the Row, Shelf, or Bin preference is enabled. Here's how:
Once turned, add a bin location to an existing site. The radio button for the is a bin within site option should be available. Click Lists at the top menu and select the Inventory Site List. Next, double-click the inventory site.
For future reference, please check these articles for more information: Receive Inventory And Set Up Item List.
Reply to this thread if you have any other concerns. I'd be glad to help.
You may open a new company file for your second location then utilize the consolidating report feature available in QBES. You may also open 2 company files on your screen at the same time if required.
