Make Quickbooks stop creating qbw32DOTNET.log files

A user's QuickBooks program creates around 400 qbw32DOTNET.log files daily in C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Intuit\QuickBooks\Log

I can delete all of them one day, and the next day there are hundreds more, named QBW32DOTNET0900.log. If we ignore it, eventually the hard drive gets full. How do I stop the additional files from being created?

Make Quickbooks stop creating qbw32DOTNET.log files

Hi tchristoff,

Let's get to the bottom of this and ensure to trace where these files are coming from.

Generally, each QuickBooks Desktop version has its own QBWin.log file. It stores messages about unforeseen conditions, fatal error messages, and information created by the Verify Data, Rebuild Data, and Clean Up Company Data utilities.

Once you start QuickBooks, it renames the old QBWin.log file and creates a new one. Here are articles for more details:

Since the program creates a lot of QBW32DOTNET files every day, I'd recommend contacting us. Our specialists can securely access your account and trace where these files are coming from.

You can also copy the link of our conversation in the address bar above and give it to the representative. This way, you don't need to re-explain the situation.

Here's how you can reach us:

  1. Go to
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop as the product.
  3. Choose your version.
  4. Pick Solving Issues & Error Messages, and then select File & Network Management.
  5. Click your preferred mode of contact.

You're not alone with this- we're always here to help you out.

Please update me as to how things go with your files. I'll be here anytime.
