Join nowHi, I am currently using a desktop version of QuickBooks, and I will likely move to the online version soon. It looks like we can use the Essentials plan, but there is one thing I need to confirm. While we have no inventory per se, we do have an 'item' setup for each consultant's name which is associated to a specific bill and pay rate, and we currently include this information on our invoices. Is this type of information considered inventory (items) in QB Online? If so, is there anyway, outside of inventory/items, to identify our consultants name, bill rate, and hours worked outside of inventory on QB Online? It appears that the cost to use QB Online is quite a bit higher if we have inventory. Initially, I was relieved that we do not have inventory since we are a services business, but I'm not quite sure how Intuit defines inventory. I'd appreciate any feedback you may have in this regard!

Hi there, hmanzano2020.
Let me provide insights on moving data from your Desktop to Online.
We can use QuickBooks Essentials in converting your QuickBooks Dekstop files. You'll have to change the product and service item type and use Non- inventory then add it to the Vendor on the expense side. I''ll show how to do it:
