Multiple accounts for one vendor

I have multiple accounts with one vendor because I have multiple jobs or services with that vendor. I know that in Customer list we can create Jobs for each customer. Is there any similar treatment for vendors? Using Desktop 2019 for Accountants.

Re: Multiple accounts for one vendor

EDIT NOTE: The following is in error due to the lack of creativity and foresight in the Intuit organization that on the surface sounds like should be a no-brainer. But the workaround for QBO https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Help-Articles/Create-subvendor-names/td-p/185796 will work in desktop also

[You can have sub-vendors, same as customers and other lists that allow sub accounts and you can go 5 levels deep. Sub-vendors would also be appropriate when you purchase items form same overall vendor but from different stores.]

Re: Multiple accounts for one vendor

How would I go about creating the sub-vendors? I would like to have them show under the master vendor just as jobs show under main customer.

Re: Multiple accounts for one vendor

Hi there, Yogi.

Allow me to jump into this conversation and provide a few details about creating a sub-vendor.

The option to create a sub-vendor hasn't been made available in QuickBooks Desktop. Please know that we've been making improvements to help make running your business easier. Everything we have developed within the program derives from listening to our customers.

I encourage checking back for any product updates and feature enhancements through this link: Firm of the Future.

We hear you. I'll be sure to update this thread if I hear any changes about the option that you're looking for.

Should you have questions, I'm just a comment away. I'll be around. Have a wonderful day.

I have used this work-around even though it falls just shy of my needs. Hopefully this function will be added to future editions. Thank you for your input.
