Here are important key points to ensure when syncing QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Time:

 

  • Only one QuickBooks Desktop company file can be linked to a single QuickBooks Time account, so you must be updating the same company file that is connected to QuickBooks Time.
  • To sync, log in to QuickBooks Desktop as the admin in single-user mode, and ensure the Web Connector is set up and updating successfully.
  • The Web Connector syncs employee and customer changes; if it fails, updates from Desktop won't appear in Time.

 

First, confirm you are in the correct company file by opening QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and ensuring the company file you updated is the same one that was integrated to QuickBooks Time during Web Connector setup. Once confirmed, verify the basic integration setup by logging in to QBDT as the admin user in single-user mode.

 

Next, run a manual web connector sync. Since edits from QuickBooks Desktop won't automatically sync with QuickBooks Desktop.
