My employees are listed twice in my team since migrating from Quickbooks desktop to online. How do I fix this?

Hi, @Kellie95. Welcome to the QuickBooks Community.

There are a few ways to remove a duplicate employee in QuickBooks Online. I'll explain and show you the steps below.

First, we can manually sync your QuickBooks Payroll and QuickBooks Time to ensure your team member list is always up-to-date and matches across both QuickBooks Payroll and QuickBooks Time. Here's how:

  1. Go to My Apps.
  2. Select Time, then Time entries.
  3. Go to Classic QuickBooks Time.
  4. Navigate to QuickBooks Payroll, then select Import.
  5. After successfully syncing, you can then view the log.

In QuickBooks Time, we can also merge duplicate team members to ensure your records are accurate and organized. This way, when processing payroll or reviewing your employees' work hours, all the information will be combined in one profile. Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Classic QuickBooks Time.
  2. Then, My Team and click Merge team members.
  3. Select the first user profile that you want to merge. In the second box, any eligible worker profiles that can be merged with the first selected user will be displayed.
  4. Choose the duplicate user you want to merge.
  5. Hit Merge.

If the duplicate employees is inside QuickBooks Online or Payroll and the record is empty or doesn't have paychecks or pay history, you can delete it in QuickBooks Online. Here's how to delete it:

  1. Got to Payroll.
  2. Select the duplicate Employee.
  3. In the Actions dropdown, click Delete Employee.
  4. Hit Yes.
