My employer has instructed me to leave the "Choose Donor" field blank & leave billable (/hr) unchecked however it is automatically populating the donor field. Help?

I’m a new employee that has been set up to use Intuit quickbooks to enter my time-sheets. My employer instructed me to leave the “Choose Donor” field blank and keep the Billable hour (/hr) box unchecked. However the Billable (hr) box is checked by default and I cannot save the time-sheet unless I put something in the ““Choose Donor” field. The problem that this seems to be causing is that my time-sheet is appearing as blank for our accountants doing the pay. Can you help resolve this issue?

Welcome to the Community, @nadav-ecocentre-.

Let's get this sorted out so you can enter your timesheets successfully.

You'll be able to save timesheets even if the Choose a Donor field is blank and unchecked the Billable (h/r) checkbox. Since you're getting an error saving your timesheets without that information, let's try logging in to QuickBooks Online (QBO) using a private browser. There are times that the browser stores frequently accessed data, thus causing QBO to act weirdly. Press this shortcut key on your keyboard to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If this works, it means that you need to clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different one.

You might want to read this article to learn how to enter and track your timesheets in QBO: Track and manage QuickBooks Time in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Payroll.
