Hi there, FEHP.
When you move or upgrade from QuickBooks Pro or Premier to QuickBooks Enterprise, all your data should carry over. However, if it didn't successfully transfer to QuickBooks Enterprise 2024, don't worry, your information should still be retrievable. You can restore your data by opening QuickBooks Enterprise and loading your backup file.
When restoring, QuickBooks uses the backup company file (.qbb) to create a new company file (.qbw). If you save your backup file on an external device, such as a USB drive or a hosting service like Box, first transfer it to your local hard drive. Then, follow these steps to restore your file:
- Go to the File menu and select Open or Restore Company.
- Select Restore a backup copy and click Next.
- Choose Local Backup and click Next.
- Browse your computer to locate your backup file ([Your company name].qbb).
- Choose a folder to save the restored file, then click Open.
- Once done, click Save.
Please note that opening a backup file in the same folder as your existing company file may overwrite your data. To avoid this, rename your files or save the backup in a different folder. If prompted about overwriting data, select the option that suits your needs, but do so only if you are certain.
Don't hesitate to ask follow-up questions or post new inquiries if you need anything else.
