New client with different version of QB desktop

Acquiring new client who used QB Desktop 2018 until they contracted someone else to do their books just a few weeks ago.  Now they are signing up with me, but their current bookkeeping has sent me a backup from QB Accountant Desktop 2015.  Not sure if I can load this into my 2018 Desktop version or if I should try switching them to QBO.  Thoughts, suggestions?
