Buy nowReading all these complaints is very discouraging. Apparently, Quickbooks doesn't care. They haven't even acknowledged the problems with this new so-called "better" shipping manager, let alone attempted to fix them. IT DOESN'T WORK! Don't you get it? Are you so large that you don't care? Someone should lose their job. This publicly held company on the Nasdaq deserves to take a big hit. Is there a Wall Street Journal writer out there who will take this on?
This new shipping manager doesn't make a determination on business/residential for FedEx. Nor does it calculate out of area surcharges. Many shipments are coming in at double the quote. Other issues are how extremely slow it is to load. Launching on Dec 7th was just a big F U to retailers during the Holidays. It takes at least 90 seconds to generate the label with several redundant steps. i.e. purchase the label "responds" something went wrong, try again" It will print on the second attempt, but this is on every single label. Taking nearly 2 minutes to print a single label. At 150 shipments per day, that's 5 hours just to create labels, assuming the data entry person doesn't stop for any type of break.
As much as I hate the new shipping manager, I did find one backwords way to find your negotiated rates. Normally I would print the invoice first and do shipping last, but I discovered that if you do the shipment first, there is a box you can check to show the fedex tracking number on the invoice. By doing this, it also shows the rate and it is actually my negotiated rate. I then have to manually remove the rate part from the invoice so my customer does not see it. This shipping manager is a total mess, but see if this works for you to solve at least one problem
HI All,
Am I the only one not able to process a FedEx Priority Overnight or UPS Next Day Air with the proper delivery date. Both overnight services display a delivery in 2 days, not 1. And the label shows the day two days away also. I cannot take a chance UPS and FedEx actually hold the overnight for 2 days before delivering so I am using fedex.com and ups.com for next day shipments. I called QB Tech Support and they said they would pass along my "observation" to the developers. I also contacted ShipEngine and they told me they are aware of the issue but it is a Quickbooks issue. Ditto for not sending the reference and PO number info to FedEx for the bills I receive. Bring back the old Ship Manager!

Bring back the old Ship Manager!
Hello All,
Well I just found another wonderful new feature of the new QB Enterprise Shipping Manager. The INABILITY to create a UPS call tag label. The original QB shipping API would allow for multiple return labels options. (1) I could direct the UPS driver to have a RS (return service label in hand at time of package pickup at my customers location) – One attempt. (2) For a few dollars more the same process as the One attempt but with Three attempts. (3) The RS service I used the most was the ability to generate the return label and email to my customers. The whole process only took 2 clicks. Basically one click to swap senders address (my company) to the receivers address (my customers) and a click to select the desired UPS level of service. After a couple hours with the “award winning” QB Enterprise tech support, we discovered the RS feature is no longer available with the new Ship Station interface. Please bring back the old Ship Manager!
I know many of these things have already been stated but wanted to add my disappointment to the list. I have filled out the feedback under help a couple of times now but nothing has been done. I would like the Ship Manager to go back to the old version until they get the bugs fixed - I believe someone who has never shipped a package wrote the software.
The list goes on and on - this is not an improvement. I have been a customer for over 20 years and I am not looking for alternatives to QB software for my business. I have absorbed the astronomical price increases because the system worked and usually worked seamlessly. That is not the case anymore. Lets all hope this gets fixed quick before everyone finds a better alternative.
Actually meant to type "I am NOW looking for....
God, I feel this a thousand ways. Hence, I am here months after the conversation started with many of the same issues still hanging out there. I am not afraid to say I am desperately seeking a platform that provides everything we need but in a usable format that does not break at every turn, and the hot minute one presents itself we are hasta la see-you-later. And before any QB admins jump on here to tell me how to "resolve" my issues, don't bother. I have been down those roads a thousand times. QB might actually be the only computer software to make me actually cry.
I called in all of my issues a few weeks ago. they sent me to ship manager. Ship Manager said that all of my issues are the responsibility of Quickbooks.
Just called back QB this morning. Tech support Payton said: not our problem. it is a Ship Manager problem. she nearly said too bad. Now I am on endless hold to speak with a manager at QB. This is bs. it is a terrible program. untested and I am ready to switch to another ship software. Such a waste of time.
