New Version of QBE (24.19) but not release notes or anything else?!?!

Setting up a new computer for one of my employees, I installed QBE 24 and ran the update and it updated to version R19_30 or R19P.  All of my others are R18_67 or R18P.  I checked the whats new / release notes page and it does not show R19.  It says I need to update my database so obviously there are some significant changes but no idea what.  Hello QB?  We need info ifyou are going to push our a new version.

New Version of QBE (24.19) but not release notes or anything else?!?!

Hey there, @EdNewman.

Thanks for checking in. How are you doing today? I hope your day is going great so far.

This release will bring new functionality to QuickBooks. Below are the release notes for the R19 update:

QuickBooks Enterprise Only: Profitability Detail by Item report:

  • The updated Invoice Profitability report goes beyond high-level summaries to give you deeper, drillable insights:
    • Detailed Line-Item Profitability: You can view revenue, direct cost, and gross profit for every individual item on an invoice.
    • Flexible Grouping: You'll have the ability to analyze your margins by Customer/Job, Sales Rep, Class, Item, or Item Type.
    • Drill-Down Capabilities: This is so you can click on any subtotal or line item to open the original invoice and review its details.

QuickBooks Pro/Prem/Enterprise: PO numbers in Statements:

  • Users will have an option to turn on/off this feature when they are creating a customer statements.

Due to this update being slowly released, our help guide: Release notes for QuickBooks Desktop 2024, should be updated by March 10th, as the update will be available to all users by this date.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with. Take care!

New Version of QBE (24.19) but not release notes or anything else?!?!

I work with multiple QB files. Recently my QB 2024 Premium Accountant Edition updated with the R19 and since then all my QB 2024 files will have an Unrecoverable Error when working in the file! Today my Enterprise 2024 updated, and it also is now getting the unrecoverable error. QB supports fix was to Repair the program with a reinstallation, but that didn't work, same issue. Am I the only one having this problem?

Hello, @Rose72. We can help you verify and rebuild data in your company file. This process can resolve errors and other issues you're experiencing with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities.
  3. Click Verify Data.
  4. Select OK to close all windows.

If there are still problems with your company file, you'll have to rebuild it.     Here's how:

  1. Go to the Files menu, and select Utilities.
  2. Choose Rebuild Data, and then click OK.
  3. Click OK to create a backup and prevent data loss during the process.
  4. Finally, click OK to continue with the rebuild.

If the above solutions don’t resolve the issues, you can refer to solutions 2 and 3 in this article: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

Hello there, Magtajas05. The connection has been lost message can occur due to incorrect folder permissions, firewall configuration, or unstable internet settings.

To isolate this, start by ensuring your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. Once done, run the system as administrator:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Right-click the QuickBooks icon and choose Run As Administrator.
  3. Try to open the company file again.

Next, toggle the UAC setting:

  1. On your keyboard, click the Windows logo and type User Account Control.
  2. Go to Settings, then Change User Account Control Settings.
  3. Take note of the current level and then move the slider to the highest setting. Always notify.

If the issue persists, follow the 5-9 steps provided in this article for further guidance: Connection to QuickBooks Desktop company file is lost.

Yes, I can open a sample file. I can open all my files. After working in the file for a bit, the unrecoverable error message appears. I have tried the Verify data, Rebuild, and Repair. None of these processes have fixed the issue.

@Rose72

Try this one.

One additional step to check is whether the qbmapi64.exe error is still occurring. Please press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard and select Task Manager to end that task before moving on to the next steps.

Next, let’s jump into your install folder. Typically, it’s located in C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2024\. Once you're there, look for a file named D3DCompiler_47.dll and just rename it to D3DCompiler_47.dll.old. Now, we’re going to swap it for a fresh version, head over to C:\Windows\System32, copy the D3DCompiler_47.dll file from there, and paste it right back into that QuickBooks folder C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2024\.
