Join nowI've posted before about the "Contact Us" button missing from the help menu - sometimes there, sometimes not.
And, though I have sent several messages through the Tool Hub Message Us feature, I have never received replies. Does this feature even work?
My questions were about the PPP Loan Payroll Cost Report continually crashing.
More recently, one employee to whom I've sent several email invites for Workforce.Intuit.com still cannot access his paystubs.
Hey there, @j_donahue.
I suggest making a clean install of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to help fix these problems. Doing this removes the current operating system and user files during the initial installation process. It then overwrites all other content on the hard drive and launches a brand new install folder.
You also need to ensure that you're using fully supported QuickBooks versions. These are QBDT 2018 and up. Unsupported versions tend to encounter more issues when using online features.
To uninstall the program:
1. Make sure to create a backup copy before uninstalling the software.
2. From the Windows icon, search for “Control Panel,” then open the Control Panel settings
3. Choose Programs and Features.
4. Locate QuickBooks from the list of installed programs.
5. Select Uninstall/Change.
6. Click on Continue, then Next.
7. Choose Uninstall, then click Next again.
8. Hit Finish and restart your computer.
When you’re done, start the Clean Install process. Refer to this link for the complete steps: Clean install QuickBooks Desktop.
I’m always here if you need further assistance. Take care.
Greetings,
I ran QuickBooks Tools Hub for a client and it erased their entire data file! They have been a loyal Enterprise customer for over 7 years and their entire data is gone! I am appalled that Intuit allows such malicious software to be so easy to access by not only customers, but your trained support staff as well.
As an IT Professional for over 30 years, i have never seen such a garbage piece of software.
Be very careful running the Tools Hub, it deleted my clients data file and their backup is over 2 years old. They unfortunately have a lot of data to re enter thanks to Intuits incompetency.
Has anyone else had any similar problems with this Tools Hub? I can't believe it would erase data and not inform the user.
If any Intuit personnel see this, please help as my (and my clients) attempts to reach support have all gone unanswered and no one has called us back yet.
-Sam
QB Tool Hub only works on one file at a time. I'm not sure if it can delete ALL QuickBooks company files including backup files. Have you checked the Recycle Bin?
Thank you for posting here in the Community, Sam.
I can share some information about the QuickBooks Tool Hub and help you with recovering the erased data file.
The QuickBooks Tool Hub can help fix common errors in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). To know more about the different types of errors and how we can fix them, check out this article: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub. Then, here you can use your backup company file (.qbb) to restore the company file in QuickBooks Desktop.
Since you've mentioned that the file has been erased after running the tool, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support team to help you recover those files.
Follow the steps below on how to reach them:
You can check this article for more information about the different types of support we offer and their availability: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.
In case you'll encounter errors when restoring the backup company file, here's how to resolve them: Fix backup company file issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know in the Reply section below if you need more help with your company file. I'm always here to help. Have a great rest of the day!
That does not solve or address my concerns. Tools Hub deleted my clients data file, what you posted does not address why that happened or how Intuit can help resolve this.
