OL – 304 error when I tried to connect to my Chase account

Hi there, @gojuman1.

I'm here to help fix the error when trying to connect your account.

Error OL-304 may happens if you have multiple user IDs/logins at your bank. QuickBooks Desktop allows one Customer ID/login per bank for download, per company file. It's possible that the program recognizes two login IDs for your Chase bank, which is why it's not letting you use the new one.

You need to review your account information to double-check if the updated login ID syncs in the Bank Feeds Settings:

  1. Go to Lists at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. In the Chart of Accounts window, select the account you are having issues with and click Edit.
  4. From the Edit Account window, click the Bank Feed Settings tab.
  5. Make sure the number in the Account Customer ID field matches your new username.

If you can still see the old credentials, please contact your financial institution to help merge your accounts into one Login username. Once done, go back to QuickBooks and re-enter your new Chase Direct Connect credentials.

OL – 304 error when I tried to connect to my Chase account

Thank you for joining the thread, @cindymccourt.

I'd like to help add to the information provided by my colleague regarding this error code.

If you're only using a single login ID but still having trouble with the connection, there may be changes made by your bank that requires you to refresh it in QuickBooks.

Let me route you this article for the common fix you can perform to successfully connect to your bank: Fix OL and OLSU Bank Feeds errors in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'd also suggest contacting your bank to check if there's any notification of changes to their service offerings.

Please know that I'm always here if you have additional questions about connecting to your bank. I'd love to help however I can.
