Hi there, JoannVigil66.

When you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, your past reconciliation reports don't convert to QuickBooks Online. All reconciled transactions in the register will have a reconciled status indicated with " R ".

If these transactions are showing up on the reconciliation page, you can go to the bank's register and manually mark it as Reconciled.  This way, it won't show up on the next succeeding month's reconciliation. I'd also suggest reaching out to an accountant so they can give you the best advice on how to deal with these transactions.

I'll show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and click Chart of accounts.
  2. Locate the bank you want to reconcile and select View register.
  3. Filter the transactions to display like that date into the year 2008.
  4. Under the Reconciliation status column indicated with a checkmark, click the transactions and repeatedly click the box until you'll see the " R " status.
  5. Click Save and select Yes to confirm the action.

You can check out these references for more information about the reconciliation process:

I'll be here if you have other questions. Take care and have a great day!

Glad you like it. We have been using this for several weeks now and it seems to be going nicely.

Thanks for coming back. Let's investigate what's causing the reconciled transactions still showing on the Reconciliation page, JoannVigil66.

I've checked here on our end and there's no reported case about this one. To better isolate this one, let's try reviewing the filters in the Reconcile page to see if we selected the correct date and fields. Here's how:

  1. On the Reconcile page, click the Filter option (funnel icon).
  2. Set the filters correctly (Cleared statusTransaction typePayee, and Date).
  3. Tap Apply.

If the same thing happens, let's try signing in to QuickBooks Online (QBO) using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

Feel free to visit our Reconciliation page for more insights about reconciling your bank transactions.

I'd like to know how you get on after trying the steps, as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Please leave a comment below and I'll get back to you. You have a good one.
