Paying invoices online

Thanks for checking with the Community @Shalo.

Having the ability for your customers to pay via a link is so convenient and helps keep your records easily. I definitely want to get this going for you.

I’d like to ask a few questions to make sure I get you the correct information:

  • Are your customers getting a specific error message when they click the link?
  • Is this one customer or all customers?
  • Do you happen to know what browser they are using to open the link?
  • What version of QuickBooks are you using?

Just to double-check, I’m including the setup process for online payments.

I want to make sure that you get the information you are looking for so I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

Have a great day!

Paying invoices online

Sorry for the delayed response.

My customers are set up for online payments but the payment link in the email isn't working, when they click
on it nothing happens.

I am using QB Desktop 2021 but have no idea what browsers my customers are using.

Thank you

Paying invoices online

Thank you for reaching back out to us, Shalo. I appreciate that you made sure your customers are set up for online payment and answering the questions my colleague asked to assist you better. If your customers are receiving an error message, here is what they can do to correct this.

  1.  Over time, the collection of data from frequent page visits can cause corruption of data. Clearing cache and cookies will remove those corruptions, allowing the page to load a clean copy. Depending on their browser, please encourage them to follow this link to clear those cache.
  2. Second, have them right-click the Review and pay button in the invoice email and copy the URL. Open a web browser and paste the link into the address bar. If the link still doesn't open, suggest to them to try another web browser. QuickBooks Payments work well with ChromeFirefoxInternet Explorer, and Safari.
  3. Third, have your customers ensure their web browser is up to date.

Just for verification purposes, double-check to ensure that you have this feature turned on. You can refer to this article to turn on online invoice payments in QuickBooks Desktop. I also encourage you to review this article, explaining what to do if customers can't pay their invoices online in detail. Please let me know if you have any difficulties. My team and I will be here to help. I hope you have a lovely day.
