Payroll 940 annual tax form is not coming up in my payroll forms. There is a 940 schedule/A. I need the 940 for MA. Is anyone else having a problem with this.

Thanks.

940 is a Federal payroll tax return for Federal Unemployment (FUTA).   For MA, would be SUI/SUTA.

This should be in my payroll forms correct? If so it is not their?

If you paid SUTA to MA, I would think so.  I am not an Intuit person, just another user like you.

I just know that the 940 is Federal tax form vs state so wanted to help you refine your search.

Yes I would to but it is not there. Was wondering if anyone else was having this issue.

Thank for all your help.

Hello there, Lowell211.

I'm here to make sure your Form 940 shows up in your payroll forms list.

It's possible that the 940 form was made inactive reason why it's not showing under File forms tab. We can make this active by following the steps provided below:

  1. Go to Employees menu.
  2. Click Payroll Center.
  3. In the File Forms tab, click on the Forms button.
  4. Select Make a New Form Active.
  5. Click on Create Form button.

If it's still not showing, let's update your tax table to the latest version to update your payroll tax forms.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Employees tab.
  2. Click Get Payroll Updates.
  3. Click to select Download entire payroll update.
  4. Click Update.
  5. Click OK.

This article provides a detailed information on how to download latest payroll tax table: Download the latest payroll tax table.

That's it. Let me know if you have other payroll questions or if you need help with payroll tax forms. I'm always here to help.

Hi,

Thank you so much for reaching out. This is my first time doing the 940 Annually for this company. I do see a 940/SchA. is this the same form?

Thank you.

Hello there, Lowell211.

Form 940 and Form 940 Schedule A are different forms. You'll need to file 940 Schedule A together with the form 940 if your state is subject to credit reduction.

For more details, you can check this article: 2018 Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) Credit Reductions.

Let me know if you need anything else. Have a great day!
