POS Inventory Gift Basket Building

We are a garden center. We sell plants and pots. We have started putting together plant arrangements using our inventory items. Similar to making a gift basket.

for example we are pulling item 354, 951, 1002 & 1034 all from inventory and putting into pot item #90

This new combination will have its own item #. Let's call it #3290.

When Item 3290 is created how do we tell the system we used items 354, 951, 1002 & 1034 & 90 so that when 3290 is sold the inventory will reflect that 1 qty was sold from 354, 951, 1002 & 1034 & 90

Thanks.

POS Inventory Gift Basket Building

Hey there, @SusannaT

Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community. I hope you're enjoying this day so far.

To clarify, what product are you using along with Point of Sale? For example, are you using QuickBooks Enterprise? If so, it sounds like you could benefit from utilizing the build assembly feature for inventory.

Using the build assembly feature allows you to combine a series of items and sell it as one item. Once your build assembly is created you will call this item 3290. Then, your item 3290 would be a combination of items 354, 951, 1002, and 90. This build assembly will reduce the quantity of the items within it by however many you use for the product 3290. Depending on how many builds you make of 3290 will be how much quantity you contain for that item. Thus when selling 3290, your inventory will reduce just as selling single items, such as item 354.

You can see the full details outlined in Combine your inventory items to build finished goods

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your response. Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns. Take care!
