I'd love to share with you some information about Point of Sale item list limits for QuickBooks 2018.


Point of Sale doesn't have a limit on the number of items it can hold.

No, the below information did not help me.  I work at a Cabin Rental Company & we have a small "Walmart" at our office so we do not have to make trips everyday.

We are using QuickBooks Point of Sale 6.0 and YES I know it is OLD, trust me.  Trying to find out if we are even able to print a List of Items that are listed under a specific Department.  For instance, we have a Department listed as BLINDS (window blinds) and there are 63 DIFFERENT Blinds listed under it, which is ridiculous.  I want to print this list, match it to the Blinds we actually have in stock and remove all the ones that are no longer here.  Biggest issue I have is about 6 months ago an employee left our company and when she did, she removed Excel (she removed WINDOWS somehow) from our computer so we are no longer able to export anything (absolutely NO type of report), we can only print them which is a HUGE pain the booty.  I have tried to download Excel several times but it has to be 2002 or 2003 & I can't do it somehow.  Back to there any way to process a list of items from one specific department.  If I had Excel and could export the report of Items, I could do it all myself, just don't have capability.  Can anyone please help me?  Or can anyone tell me how I can get Excel 2002 or 2003?  Thank you.

Thanks for joining the discussion. Allow me to I can add a bit more on how to customize your reports in QuickBooks Point of Sale 6.0.


You can modify the format, filters, and display options of your POS reports to better suit your needs. Let me show you how to do that:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and click Report Center.
  2. Locate the item report you want to pull up (Example: Inventory Report).
  3. On the report, select the specific area you wish to change from the I Want To menu, or tap the Modify button.
  4. Click on Filter Data.
  5. Define your filter criteria then hit Save.
  6. Make other report modifications as necessary, and press Run to view the report with your changes or Cancel to undo your changes.

To export a list or report into Excel:

  1. Go to the Report Center, view the report you wish to export.
  2. From the I Want To menu, select Export To Excel.

That should get your work done, @AUNTJEN2. If you're unable to get the information you need, I'd recommend contacting our Point of Sale Support for further assistance. There they can can perform a screen-sharing session with you, to help you with your reports.
