Posting a vendor invoice without backup paperwork

Need to post an invoice from a vendor but do not want to pay it until I have all the backup paperwork (receiver & purchase order) showing it was received and approved. How do I go about differencing between what has backup and can be paid and ones that don't?

Let me be the first to welcome you to the Community. I’m here to help differentiate the bills that can be paid from those that don’t.

 

You can create a bill and on the Memo field, type “Can be paid” and save it. Once you’re ready to pay the transaction, run the Transaction Detail report and customize it.


From there, click on the bill with the details of the memo you entered. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and select Custom Reports.
  2. Select Transaction Detail.
  3. Click the Customize Report button.
  4. Choose the Filters tab and enter Transaction Type on the Search Filters field.
  5. Under the Transaction Type drop-down, select Bill.
  6. Hit OK.
