Prevent Invoice Generation with Lack of Inventory

Is there a function within QBE19 that will prevent a user from issuing an invoice if there are zero (or less than the amount on the sales order) assemblies on hand?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Thanks for your time sharing this with the Community, @jerameyork,

That's a great question! I can share some information about creating invoices with zero assemblies on hand.

There isn't currently a preference in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to disable invoicing when assemblies are unavailable. You, however, have the option to enables alerts when there isn't enough inventory to sell. Let me guide you how to do that:

1. Go to the Edit menu.

2. Choose Preferences.

3. Select Items & Inventory from the list.

4. Go to Company Preferences.

5. Mark the Warn if not enough inventory to sell checkbox.

6. Choose which alert you'd like to use from the option.

7. Click OK.

That should do it, @jerameyork. This sounds like a nice thing to have with our program so I'd recommend adding this to our feature lists. You can submit a request to our developers by following the steps below:

Here's how to send your request:

1. Click the Help menu bar.

2. Scroll down to Send Feedback Online.

3. Select Product Suggestion.

4. Choose Product Suggestion for the Type of Feedback.

5. Product Area is optional.

6. Enter your suggestion.

7. Click Send Feedback.

That should do it. Your suggestion goes directly to our Development Team who considers feedback for QuickBooks enhancement. I'll do the same thing in my end to reinforce your request.

If there is anything else you need, please let me know. I'd be glad to assist however I can if I can be of help. Have a great day!
