Join nowHello,
We have one user who prints invoices and every few days, will get an error stating that QB cannot print. He either sends the invoices as PDFs for some customers, or prints to a printer.
The usual "fixes" depend on the "day" or maybe the celestial positions and can be any of the following:
1) Close QB, restart Print Spooler, and print from QB
2) Close QB, run QB Tool Hub and use the repair printing, print from QB
3) Restart the machine and print from QB
Trouble is that there is no consistency - you may print half a dozen invoices prior to it failing and any of the above fixes will get that same invoice printed, or it may work for a week before it fails. This week has been horrible, with it failing 6 times in 5 days!
When it fails from QB, the user can continue to print to the same printers for everything else non QB related. I removed the Amyuni driver from an older QB install and all
Thanks for posting here, @VS0001,
QuickBooks would normally work without any issues if the computer follows the system requirements for printing. Instability of functions may be caused by the software not being updated or data corruptions within the company file.
For now, you can try printing invoices in a sample company file and see if the issue appears there. We need to check whether the issue is just the company file or the software. Here's how to open a test file in QuickBooks:
Access the test account on the QuickBooks startup page when you launch the program. See this illustration:
If you're currently working on the actual company, you can switch to the sample file by clicking the File menu and selecting Close Company/Logoff.
If he same thing happens, I highly recommend that you contact our Technical Support Team. They can provide additional troubleshooting and if needed can escalate the case to our Data Services department.

Jen,
Creating a new company or not isn't really the solution - It happens in multiple companies, same process, same function and randomly where if 10 invoices are created, 6 will print before a failure and then the "fixes" applied may allow the next 4 to be printed. By the following day, it may not even print the first one, and after one of the three fixes, will print all the invoices. So it isn't the print driver, or the company file, as the same invoice will print either on the first try or after the "fixes" are applied. And the fact that all other applications print to the same printer, means that the printers are still accessible via the network.
Hope this helps you understand what the issue is.
Thanks.
Glad to have you back, @VS0001,
It seems like we really need to get your company file diagnosed by our technical team. They can check the severity of the issue and if needed, can escalate this to out Data Services Team. They'll set your expectations for the process and provide file action you'll need to take in case of an escalation.
