Hello,
I hope someone can help. This was never an issue in older versions, but now I have the 2017 per CPA request, and it drives me insane. The useless bottom and top part of every template takes over VAST MAJORITY of space on the screen and the "working part" where does on enters items is so small that one has to scroll to enter additional items. This is a huge nuisance, because ;I'm unable to view all items at once unless I hit the preview. Changing screen resolution only makes things worse and I was not able to figure out how to change the screen layout so that the bottom and top is smaller and the actual "working part" is bigger. Anyone ? Please and thank you
Hello there, @kulisa.
I appreciate you for providing a screenshot and performing some troubleshooting steps to sort this out.
Allow me to help share additional info to resolve this, so you can view all your items in QuickBooks.
To start, let's adjust the margin of your template, so you can resize the screen layout. I'll show you how;
I've added these resources that can help you customize the form template and how to resolve its issues:
Please know that I got you covered should you need anything else with QuickBooks. I'd be pleased to help you out. Have a nice day.
Thank you Joesem, but this does NOT solve my problem.
Margins are already at 0.50 in at bottom and top but even if changing to 2 in as per your example,
all I get are 4 measly lines. This is not a margin problem in my opinion. Again this was never an issue in older version of QB. Also I don't have any issues the way it prints or save, the problem is WORKING SPACE which is very minimal now, hence using QB had become huge nuisance due to this. thanks for trying though
I wish I could make it better, @kulisa.
Let me help share the possible reasons why the working area of your template looks compressed when working with invoices.
To start with, QuickBooks 2017 has been discontinued and you're unable to use any of the online services. To learn more about this, please check out this link for reference: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information.
Now, the second reason I can think of is the View preferences you've chosen. Let's open a sample file and create an invoice to check if you have the same view of the said template. If you don't have the same view of the template in the sample file, you can consider changing the View preference on your regular company worked on. To do so, click View and select One Window.
But if it has still the same even when working on a sample file, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support. With their tools, a specialist can help you investigate this unexpected view of your template. To contact our dedicated support:
Lastly, I've got you this helpful article in case you need the steps in recording payments from your customers and other methods you can choose from: Get started with customer transaction workflows in QuickBooks Desktop.
If there's anything else that I can help you with, let me know in the comments. I'll be here to lend a hand.
I have One window view,
this issue has been present from the initial installation, I just never got around to ask until now. I guess I will attempt to contact QB as per your instructions below. Thank you for your assistance
