You may have more than one company file on your machine. Open your company file on the old machine, create a backup file (i.e QBB), copy it into the new machine then restore it.

Problems moving QB

My backup on the stick lists the file as qbw

I changed the name to qbb and received an error -600, -83

?????

I then received an error

Thanks for keeping us updated, @Vevans64.

The error encountered occurs when hosting is turned on or the .ND file isn't functioning properly. To help resolve this, you can rename the .ND and.TLG files. These are the files responsible to allow QuickBooks on accessing a company file. When these files are damaged, you’ll get the error code 6000-832 when opening the file.

However, since the issue persists after renaming the .ND and.TLG files, I recommend opening a sample file to check if the problem is in your company file or the QuickBooks application. If it still doesn't open, it means that QuickBooks installation is damaged and should be repaired.

You can follow the steps on this article for a guide: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

I'd like to make sure that you're able to resolve this concern, so please let me know how it goes by posting a comment below. Have a great day.

@Vevans64

How did you "rename" the file? You have to open the QBW file normally and create the backup file (QBB). If you are enabled the multi user feature, you can not just copy and restore the QBW file to other machine.
