I appreciate you for testing our QuickBooks features. I've got some helpful information and troubleshooting steps about Purchase orders (PO).
All PO status in QuickBooks Online will be changed and saved anytime unless there are outdated or corrupt cache files on your web. To confirm, did you received an error message while saving the transaction? If so, I'd recommend doing some basic troubleshooting steps. This way, you can get rid of the problem.
To begin, I'd suggest logging in to your QBO account through incognito. This way, you can check if it's a browser-related issue. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
- Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
- Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox)
- Control + Option + P (Safari)
- Ctrl + Shift + P (Microsoft Edge)
Once logged in, re-save the PO to verify if it's already functioning thoroughly. If that works, you'll need to clear the cache of your regular browser to clear out the previously stored browsing data. Using another supported browser is a great choice too.
Once your vendor accepts the PO, you can add it to an expense or bill to make the transaction official. Follow these steps to add purchase orders to expenses or bills. QuickBooks automatically changes the status to Closed.
Additionally, you can always review your open POs by running either of these reports listed below. Then customize it to show the precise information.
- Open Purchase Order List
- Open Purchase Order Detail
- Purchases by Product/Service Detail
- Purchases by Vendor Detail
