QB 2022 Premier Plus Desktop - Windows Explorer Will Not Stay Open

Hello there, scotfitz.

It could be that you need to have the most current version of Internet Explorer. How to upgrade Internet Explorer:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Follow the steps for your Windows operating system to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11
  3. Reopen QuickBooks Desktop.

If you already have Internet Explorer 11 installed and received a notice about updating to Internet Explorer 11.0, find out how to fix the error: Warning that Internet Explorer 11.0 is required when it is already installed.

QB 2022 Premier Plus Desktop - Windows Explorer Will Not Stay Open

Hello,

I see that it used to be called Windows Explorer.... Now it's called File Explorer. File Explorer is what keeps closing.

QB 2022 Premier Plus Desktop - Windows Explorer Will Not Stay Open

Hello, scotfitz.

I'd like to share some steps to help you fix the File Explorer.

Let's make sure that your Windows  operating system as well as your QuickBooks Desktop are updated to the latest release

Once done, open the Windows or File Explorer. If you're getting the same issue that it will not stay open, we can run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. The helps fix common errors and shut down any open background processes that QuickBooks uses. It'll also run a quick repair on your program. For the best experience, we recommend using Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit.

Then, follow these steps:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. We recommend you download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've already installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Go to the Home tab and the version will be displayed on the bottom right or you can select About to view the version.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe). Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. After the installation, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub and select Program Problems Quick Fix my Program.
  5. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Furthermore, reach out to our Customer Care Team if the problem persists. They have more tools available that can help investigate what's causing this behavior and help you fix it. Please take note that our support hours for QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Plus starts from M-F 6 AM to 6 PM. For QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, we're available any time, any day.

Here's how you can reach out to us:

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop program, go to Help QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. In the Have a Question window, click the Contact Us link at the bottom.
  3. From the Contact Us page, select any topics.
  4. Under Here's how to connect with a QuickBooks expert section, click the Start a Message or Get Phone Number button.
