QB Desktop 2020 started crashing every time any report is selected

Our QB Desktop Pro Plus v2020 just started today crashing each and every time any report is selected.  QB runs fine when doing other data entry functions.  When a report is selected, the proper window appears for a second or two and then Code 19908 26338 is shown on the ("send report") crash window and the QB aborts.  Running under Windows 10 but the update history shows no Windows updates have been made in the last two weeks.  Verified that the data file has no problems.  Ran the QB Tool Hub for both the quick check, extended check, and the print fix but it did not cure the problem.  Cannot get in contact with any Intuit Tech Support even though we have the annual contract.

Yes, many people are suddenly seeing this. It does not appear to have anything to do with your company file. When a user sees this it happens in all their files.

On another thread, customers are posting that running QuickBooks with administrator privileges makes it work again.

To do this, right click the QB icon on your desktop (or start menu) and pick Run as administrator.

Thanks much.  Running QB as Administrator fixed the problem.

Running as Administrator is a good work around.

Is there a permanent solution?

Hi Dallyup52!

Glad to know you found a workaround in the Community. You can provide admin rights to the QuickBooks users, so they can run the program without having to right-click on it and choose Run as Administrator. Please check this out: Create Windows users and give them administrator rights.

Let us know if you run into issues again or if you have other questions about QuickBooks. You can also check out more references on the QuickBooks Support page.

The problem is caused by Roboform.  I was having the same problem.  Exit Roboform and everything will work fine.  Roboform needs to fix this.

THANK YOU!! Thank you so much for posting something about RoboForm! We use that program as well and have been plagued with the issue related to reports crashing since the update was applied last Thursday evening. After seeing your comment, we tested the theory today by exiting from the RoboForm program and that has solved the issue for our entire firm! Now, I'm off to RoboForm's support site to report the issue.

Hi - Do I need to uninstall Roboform, or just not be signed in? I was still having the problem with Roboform on my computer, but not signed in.

Do I need to uninstall Roboform?I think I still had the issue when not signed in to Roboform (which I love).

I was on with QB techs for nearly 8 hours over three days -- they never figured it out, so took a cc of my file and were supposed to send me a file update to fix the issue -- but of course I never heard from them again. QB customer support is just simply BAD. Although I hate to learn a new program, after 25 years running QB for my clients, it is just not doable anymore.

SIgning in as Administrator worked, so for now I am ok.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Good to hear that signing in as Administrator worked for you, @sescarpa1.

I'm here to give you some troubleshooting steps about RoboForm in QuickBooks Desktop.

You don't need to uninstall RoboForm. What you need to do is update it to version 8.9.3.3 to isolate the problem.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the RoboForm icon, then click the Help button.
  2. Choose Check for Update
  3. Hit Install. Make sure to close all open applications to complete the installation.

If you'd like to receive automatic notifications about new versions, please click the RoboForm icon in the toolbar, then select About, and put a check-mark on the Notify about the new version
