QB Desktop 2021 with Payroll

I currently have QB 2019 and a subscription to Payroll. In the past, I only had to upgrade QB every 3 years to keep my payroll subscription active which I would pay for each year. If I purchase QB Desktop 2021, can I go 3 years without upgrading QB Desktop and keep updating each year for my payroll subscription?

You can still purchase QBD 2021 with the one time license from some partners, Intuit will support it until May 2024.
