QB Enterprise Addition and Fixed Asset Manager

Can Fixed Asset Manager be used in a Network environment? I have a client having issues of lost data files and not being able to map an excel file in FAM. Per tech support, the answer is no. I find that difficult to believe.

QB Enterprise Addition and Fixed Asset Manager

Thanks for reaching out to us, @DB66,

Allow me to share some more information about the Fixed Asset Manager feature in QuickBooks Desktop. To confirm what the technical support said, you must be in Single User Mode when working with FAM.

This is currently not usable under a Multi-user network. Handling assets is crucial, therefore, we need to make sure users will work on the manager one at a time. This is to avoid any discrepancy with asset values and unnecessary mistake when multiple people are working on the same page.

To switch your account to single user file access, simply go to the File menu then Switch to Single User Mode.
