QB Online becomes inactive and I have to restart

If I allow my QB Online to remain idle for more than 15 minutes, the program no longer allows me to do any function and have to shut down and restart. Is this happening to anyone else?

QB Online becomes inactive and I have to restart

Hello, @marcus.

Let me share some information about how the time-out function works in QuickBooks.

It's possible that QuickBooks has automatically signed out once the screen has been idle for more than an hour. This timeout helps prevent unauthorized persons from accessing your data, especially when you're away from your computer. Also, the time of inactivity is based on the time that you set up in your QuickBooks account.

You can stay logged in for a maximum of 3 hours of inactivity. However, you must be logged in as Master Admin to do this. Here's how to set your timeout inactivity:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Click Advanced.
  4. Click the Pencil icon on the Other preferences section.
  5. On Sign me out if inactive for section, click the drop-down and choose 1-3 hours.
  6. Hit Save.
  7. Click Done.
