QB2017 - Could it be the cause of my internet going up and down?

I had to switch computers and reinstall QB 2017 from a computer that ran Windows 10 to Windows 7.  Additionally the Windows 7 computer does not have a wireless card so I have the computer physically wired to the router. Since I have done this my internet connection sporadically disconnects.  Now it could be that my ISP is going up and down but I have determined it only occurs if I have QB open.  I have turned off the functionality to have QB access to the internet.  

I'm wondering if this is strictly coincidence or if this is a known QB issue?

Let me share a few information about the connectivity of internet connection to QuickBooks Desktop.


I want to let you know that this is not a known issue of QuickBooks and it doesn't affect your internet connection. Here are the database servers that QuickBooks requires to meet the minimum requirements for your version.


  • Windows Server 2012 R2.
  • Windows Server 2011.
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
  • Windows 10.
  • Windows 8.1 (update 1) or Windows 7 SP1 (Enterprise and Professional editions only), natively installed.

Also, I suggest contacting IT personnel to check your internet connection.
